Under the Project, SLSI will acquire, modify, and renovate rail cars and other equipment to create the SLSI Safety Train Systems (STS) in order to bolster hazardous materials emergency response through hands-on experience with real and functional training props, such as water and compressed air, and simulated release scenarios with no actual use or release of hazmat during training for first responders and short line and regional railroad employees.
