Description
This funding opportunity invites applications to establish a National Coordinating Center (NCC) that will support AHRQ’s Healthcare Extension Service focused on state-based solutions to healthcare improvement. The NCC will provide comprehensive support to State-based Healthcare Extension Cooperatives (U19) and collaborate with the National Evaluation Center (NEC) to accelerate the dissemination and implementation of Patient-Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR) evidence into healthcare delivery.
The NCC’s core functions include:
- Technical Assistance: Tailored support to Cooperatives based on their needs, including dissemination of evidence-based tools, subject matter expertise, and guidance on multistakeholder council development and communication strategies.
- Learning Networks: Convening and facilitating networks among Cooperatives to share best practices, address challenges, harmonize data and measurement, and engage federal partners.
- Communications and Dissemination: Developing and implementing a communications plan to promote Cooperative activities, creating resources for AHRQ’s website, and maintaining a collaborative web platform.
- Leadership and Project Management: Managing NCC activities, fostering collaboration among Cooperatives, NEC, and AHRQ, conducting site visits, and supporting evaluation efforts.
The NCC is modeled after the U.S. Department of Agriculture Cooperative Extension System and incorporates principles from learning health systems to improve healthcare quality, equity, and accessibility, especially for medically underserved populations.
