Description
The Shared Instrumentation Grant (SIG) Program provides funding to eligible institutions for the purchase or upgrade of a single, high-priced, specialized, and commercially available research instrument or integrated instrumentation system. The program is designed to enhance the research capabilities of institutions by making sophisticated instruments accessible to groups of NIH-funded investigators conducting biomedical, behavioral, or clinical research. Supported instruments include, but are not limited to, mass spectrometers, NMR spectrometers, flow cytometers, DNA/protein sequencers, biosensors, light and electron microscopes, biomedical imagers, and X-ray diffractometers. The program does not support clinical trial proposals or instruments used solely for clinical (billable) care.
