Description
The NIH Research With Activities Related to Diversity (ReWARD) Program aims to broaden the scope and geographic distribution of NIH-supported research and related activities. This program specifically supports health-related scientific research conducted by investigators who contribute significantly to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) in biomedical research and who currently do not have NIH research project grant funding.
Funding is provided for both the scientific research projects and DEIA activities that enhance diversity within the biomedical research enterprise across the United States and its territories. The research supported must align with the programmatic interests of one or more participating NIH Institutes and Centers (ICs). The grant mechanism is an R01 with clinical trial participation optional.
