Description
The U.S. Embassy Harare Public Diplomacy Section invites proposals for projects that foster stronger networks between the people of the United States and Zimbabwe. The program aims to advance shared goals and values through exchanges, capacity building, and collaborative activities. All funded projects must include a significant American component, such as U.S. expert engagement (in-person or virtual) in Zimbabwe or Zimbabweans traveling to the U.S. for collaboration and best practice exchange.
Priority is given to projects that:
- Promote democratic principles, freedom of speech, and civic participation
- Advance an inclusive economy, especially through social entrepreneurship and creative industries
- Deepen U.S.-Zimbabwean university and professional partnerships
- Promote understanding and use of emerging technology for development
- Foster social inclusion of underserved communities (e.g., disabled persons, minority ethnic groups, LGBTQI+, rural populations)
Projects must be completed within 18 months. The program is not intended for scientific research, construction, fundraising, or partisan political activities.
