Description
This funding opportunity supports translational and clinical research aimed at improving precision medicine and therapeutics in maternal and pediatric populations. Projects should focus on the development of novel tools, models, technologies, or therapeutics that directly impact clinical care or health outcomes for pregnant women, lactating women, fetuses, neonates, and children—including those with physical or intellectual disabilities. Research may also enhance understanding of drug action mechanisms, pediatric ontogeny, and the unique physiological changes during pregnancy and lactation. The overarching goal is to enable safer and more effective medications and dosing strategies for these populations, addressing significant gaps in current pharmacological knowledge and practice.
