Description
This opportunity, administered by the National Sea Grant College Program (NOAA), funds projects that develop and deliver training, education, outreach, and technical assistance to support the career development of young fishermen. The goal is to increase the number of skilled individuals entering commercial fishing, addressing recruitment and retirement challenges in the industry, and supporting the sustainability and resilience of U.S. seafood supply chains.
Funded projects must create and implement training programs, workshops, or services in areas such as seamanship, navigation, vessel maintenance, sustainable fishing practices, and other community-identified needs. Projects should focus on regional commercial fishing industries and may benefit from partnerships with Sea Grant programs or other relevant organizations.
