Description
This grant program provides funding to nonprofit community-based organizations (CBOs) to deliver technical assistance aimed at increasing the employment and retention of women in apprenticeable and nontraditional occupations (A/NTO). The program supports:
- Development, expansion, or enhancement of pre-apprenticeship, youth apprenticeship, Registered Apprenticeship, or other nontraditional skills training programs for women.
- Ongoing orientations or resources for employers, unions, and workers to foster supportive environments for women in A/NTO.
- Establishment of support groups, networks, or provision of supportive services to improve retention of women in these fields.
The overarching goal is to facilitate women’s full and effective participation in traditionally male-dominated career pathways by supporting employers, unions, and workers with evidence-based technical assistance.
