Description
The Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL) of the U.S. Department of State is soliciting Statements of Interest (SOI) from organizations to implement programs aimed at increasing the free flow of objective, independent information into, out of, and within the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK or North Korea). This initiative seeks to promote democratic principles and human rights by enhancing access to independent information in a country where information is tightly controlled.
DRL focuses on supporting civil society organizations, non-profits, and educational institutions that can effectively advance these goals through targeted interventions and capacity building. The grant is part of DRL’s broader mission to promote democracy, protect human rights, and advance labor rights globally, especially in regions where these values are under threat.
