Description
This grant supports innovative, exploratory, or developmental research projects (R21 mechanism, clinical trial optional) that propose new tests, animal models, techniques, or other tools to advance research on Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and its related dementias (ADRD). The focus is on projects that require additional preliminary data to establish their utility for the broader research community. Priority research topics will be periodically announced through Notices of Special Interest (NOSIs). Both basic and applied research are eligible, including biomedical, social, and behavioral research, as well as research training aimed at understanding the aging process and the specific challenges of AD/ADRD.
