Description
This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) provides an accelerated review and award process for research evaluating new policies or programs likely to influence obesity-related behaviors (such as diet, physical activity, sedentary behavior, or sleep) and/or weight outcomes, with a goal of preventing or reducing obesity and related chronic diseases. The program is designed for situations where the opportunity to conduct empirical research is only available if the study is initiated with minimal delay (i.e., the research is time-sensitive due to imminent implementation of a policy or program).
Applications must clearly demonstrate the scientific urgency and unique opportunity for the proposed evaluation, as well as the potential for significant public health impact. All applications must use objective or gold-standard methods for primary outcomes. Resubmissions are not permitted under this NOFO.
