Description
The Environmental Protection Agency’s Exchange Network (EN) Grant Program funds projects to improve the collection, sharing, management, and use of high-quality environmental data among states, Tribes, territories, and the EPA. The goal is to foster informed environmental decision-making by promoting timely, accessible, and standardized data exchange using modern information technology. Projects should align with EPA priorities, particularly supporting EPA Pillar 3: Permitting Reform, Cooperative Federalism, and Cross-Agency Partnership, and may also address additional EPA strategic pillars.
Key project areas include:
- Facilitating environmental data sharing via shared, reusable services
- Reducing costs and burdens for co-regulators and regulated communities
- Streamlining data collection and improving timeliness for decision-making
- Enhancing data quality, accessibility, and analytical capabilities
- Building IT and data management capacity for full participation in the Exchange Network
Applicants are encouraged to participate in the EN Forum, a monthly call for sharing best practices and discussing improvements to EN services.
