This opportunity is designed to build a robust pipeline of innovative research and talented new investigators in type 1 diabetes (T1D). The program provides support for preliminary research and embeds awardees within the intellectual environment of large, ongoing collaborative research consortia. This structure offers new and early stage investigators (NI/ESI) unique opportunities to network, gain exposure to key questions in the field, and establish collaborations that can propel their careers. The program also benefits the consortia by bringing in new ideas and perspectives.

Applicants must include a one-page Proposed Affiliation Letter describing the relationship of their project to the chosen consortium/network.
