Description
The NOAA Bay Watershed Education and Training (B-WET) program provides competitive funding for locally relevant K-12 environmental education projects in the Delaware Bay watershed (Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York). The program’s focus is on developing and implementing Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs)—a learner-centered framework that integrates classroom and outdoor learning, issue investigation, and environmental action. Projects should aim to embed MWEEs systemically within school district curricula and provide high-quality professional development for teachers. The overarching goal is to foster environmental literacy, stewardship, and informed action among students, while supporting regional and state education and conservation priorities.
