The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Public Humanities Projects program funds projects that engage general audiences with humanities scholarship through in-person exhibitions and interpretive programming at historic sites. Projects must address one of the following focus areas: American Military History and Valor, The American Dream and Economic Freedom, America’s Role on a Global Scale, or the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence (the Semiquincentennial).

Projects should be grounded in sound humanities scholarship, involve external humanities scholars, and aim to reach broad or clearly defined public audiences. NEH encourages applications from small and mid-sized organizations and those tailored to specific groups such as families, youth, underserved communities, and veterans.
