Description
This opportunity solicits proposals for participation in NASA's XRISM (X-ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission) General Observer Cycle 2 program, part of the ROSES-2024 omnibus solicitation. The program supports:
- Type-1 proposals: Observational investigations using XRISM's scientific payload (Resolve and Xtend instruments) for U.S. and Canadian researchers.
- Type-2 proposals: Theoretical and/or experimental atomic physics investigations directly supporting the interpretation of XRISM Resolve data (U.S. researchers only).
XRISM is a collaborative mission led by JAXA (Japan), with significant NASA and ESA contributions, designed to study high-energy astrophysical phenomena such as stars, X-ray binaries, supernova remnants, active galactic nuclei, and galaxy clusters.
All proposals are evaluated via dual-anonymous peer review to reduce bias. The program is highly competitive and has strict requirements for proposal format and content.
