Description
The Department of Defense Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI) program, administered by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), funds teams of university investigators to conduct basic, high-risk, multidisciplinary research in science and engineering fields relevant to national defense. The program aims to foster innovation by supporting collaborative research that crosses traditional disciplinary boundaries, with the goal of achieving significant advances in fundamental knowledge and enabling future technological breakthroughs for the DoD.
For FY2026, the MURI program covers a wide range of research topics, including but not limited to atmospheric science, artificial intelligence, quantum materials, photonics, advanced materials, environmental sensing, and more.
