Description
This opportunity funds research and monitoring projects that support the management and stewardship of subsistence fisheries on Federal public lands and waters in Alaska. The program emphasizes collaboration with Alaska Native Organizations (ANOs), rural non-profits, and Federally recognized Tribal Governments, aiming to improve data quality, incorporate Indigenous and Traditional Ecological Knowledge (IK/TEK), and build local capacity. Projects must address Priority Information Needs identified by Federal Subsistence Regional Advisory Councils or provide strong justification for alternate priorities. Eligible projects may focus on harvest monitoring, traditional ecological knowledge, and/or stock status and trends.
