Description
This fellowship opportunity, offered through the NRC Research Associateship Programs at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), supports postdoctoral researchers conducting neutron scattering studies on superconducting and magnetic materials. Research areas include:
- Superconductors: Magnetic ordering and excitations, direct observation of vortex lattices, London penetration depth measurement via reflectometry, and lattice dynamics.
- Magnetic systems: Magnetic and structural properties of topological magnets and skyrmions, magnetoresistive oxides, multiferroics, magnetocaloric materials, magnetic phase transitions, and spin wave excitations in antiferromagnets, ferromagnets, and frustrated magnets.
The program provides access to state-of-the-art neutron scattering facilities at the NIST Center for Neutron Research in Gaithersburg, MD, and mentorship from leading scientists.
