This fellowship opportunity under the NRC Research Associateship Programs at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) focuses on advancing non-targeted omic-based bioanalytical measurement methods. The research aims to integrate proteomic, metabolomic, and lipidomic approaches to comprehensively assess health status by profiling biofluids (urine, plasma/serum), tissues, and cells using unbiased biochemical surveys.
The project emphasizes developing biological sample preparation methods compatible with nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and mass spectrometry-based techniques. It also involves computational and bioinformatics strategies to improve the reliable identification and classification of biochemical profile differences between samples.
Due to the interdisciplinary nature, applicants with expertise in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, NMR-based metabolomics, and/or bioinformatics are encouraged to apply.
