This postdoctoral research opportunity at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) focuses on the design, synthesis, and development of novel additives and polymeric systems exhibiting unique functional properties. The research aims to develop multifunctional polymeric materials for military applications such as wound healing, energy storage (batteries and fuel cells), nanoelectronics, magnetic materials, membranes, air filtration, coatings, and composites.
The program emphasizes the synthesis, characterization, and evaluation of organic resins and polymers with additives, particularly self-stratifying additives that localize at the coating-air interface to impart desired functionalities.
