In the digital economy, payments play a critical role. Yet online payment systems tend to allow for far less privacy than paying with a bank note or coins, especially when using proprietary solutions like Google Pay or Apple Pay. Anyone can apply, including private individuals and organizations of any type. Project proposals should be in line with the NGI vision and should have research and development as their primary objective. Proposals should have a clear European dimension. Additional InformationProject proposals should be complete and concise (no longer than the equivalent of two pages for the main application). Proposals should be scored on a 7-point scale on three criteria: technical merit, strategic relevance to the Next Generation Internet, and overall value for money. The programme will run between now and November 2026, but budgets are limited — so submit your idea soon. Note that GNU Taler itself was funded through such Next Generation Internet projects.
