This opportunity funds the Illinois Peer Support Warm Line (PSWL), a statewide, peer-operated phone support service for individuals needing emotional support, early intervention, or wellness support in place of or between formal behavioral health services. The program aims to expand access to evidence-based peer support, address behavioral health workforce shortages, and provide a confidential, judgment-free space for callers. Services must be delivered by staff with lived experience in behavioral health recovery, holding or working toward Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) credentials. The grantee will operate the phone line, provide staff training, maintain a resource directory, and report on program outcomes, all in alignment with national and SAMHSA guidelines for peer-operated warmlines.
