    Description

This fellowship opportunity at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) focuses on investigating the Sun’s magnetic field and its critical role in solar phenomena such as coronal mass ejections and solar flares. The research aims to explore the connection between solar magnetic fields and the structure and dynamics of the solar corona by combining high-resolution solar observations with numerical modeling. Observational data from space missions including Hinode, Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO), and STEREO are extensively used.

The program is designed for postdoctoral researchers to conduct self-directed, innovative research that advances understanding of solar magnetic activity and its effects on the solar atmosphere. The outcomes are expected to contribute to the broader field of solar physics, ultraviolet and X-ray astronomy, and numerical analysis of solar phenomena.
