    Description

This fellowship opportunity at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Space Weather Prediction Center in Boulder, CO, supports research on transient features in the solar atmosphere. These include evolving active regions, chromospheric events such as solar flares and filament eruptions, and coronal transients like coronal mass ejections (CMEs). The goal is to advance understanding of the causes and effects of these phenomena and to develop new observational techniques, models, or data analysis methods that improve the prediction of the onset, duration, and severity of geoeffective solar-induced events impacting Earth.

Research projects will utilize data from NOAA satellites, other research spacecraft, and ground-based observatories accessible through NOAA collaborations or brought by the Associate. The program encourages innovative approaches that contribute to space weather forecasting capabilities.
