This grant supports the Farm Family Resource Initiative (FFRI), a statewide program administered by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) in partnership with Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. The initiative aims to improve the health and well-being of Illinois farm owners and their families by identifying needs—including mental health—developing and maintaining resources (such as a helpline), and building a network of partners across all 102 Illinois counties. Activities include ongoing needs assessments, resource guide creation, helpline operation, and educational/marketing outreach to address social determinants of health and provide comprehensive support for farm families.
