The LRP provides voluntary, short-term, peer-led crisis respite for adults (18+) experiencing behavioral health crises, aiming to proactively divert individuals from unnecessary psychiatric hospitalization or law enforcement involvement. The program operates 24/7/365 in a safe, home-like environment staffed by Certified Recovery Support Specialists and other peer professionals, with immediate access to a Qualified Mental Health Professional. Services include peer welcome, risk screening, on-site support, referral/linkage to community resources, transportation assistance, and short-term follow-up. The program emphasizes trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and culturally responsive care, with ongoing staff training and active guest feedback collection to inform continuous quality improvement.
