The Cottrell Scholar Award recognizes and develops exceptional early-career faculty in chemistry, physics, or astronomy who demonstrate excellence in both research and innovative science education. The award fosters a vibrant, multigenerational community of scholar-educators across the U.S. and Canada, supporting those who integrate impactful research with significant contributions to academic citizenship and educational advancement. Awardees are expected to lead independent, high-impact research programs, advance undergraduate or graduate science education, and participate in the broader Cottrell Scholar community.
