--- ## Description This grant supports doctoral students conducting research in clinical and/or rehabilitative audiology. The aim is to foster impactful, innovative, and feasible projects that advance the field and have the potential to influence clinical practice and understanding in audiology. Proposals are evaluated for their significance, innovation, methodological rigor, feasibility, and the applicant's expertise and resources. --- ## Due Dates - April 2026 (Full application deadline, anticipated/projected) *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - Up to three grants of $2,000 each are awarded annually. - The project period is one year. - Indirect costs and travel expenses for meetings (including the ASHA Convention) are not permitted in the budget. --- ## Eligibility - Applicants must be doctoral (research or clinical) degree students enrolled in, or accepted for, study in audiology or hearing science at a U.S. academic program. - Students must be enrolled full-time for the full academic year. - Entry-level clinical doctorate (AuD) candidates must be in a program accredited by, or in candidacy status from, the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the ASHA. - The proposed research must be in clinical and/or rehabilitative audiology. --- ## Application Process - Submit a single PDF containing all required sections, following the specified order and formatting guidelines (12-point font, 1-inch margins). - Required proposal components: - Biographical Sketch (1 page) - Abstract (1 page) - Research Plan (up to 10 pages) including specific aims, significance, design/methods, and facilities/resources - Management Plan and Budget (2 pages) - Human Subjects section (up to 3 pages) with IRB statement or signed design/procedures statement - Bibliography (2 pages) - Letter of Support from academic adviser and/or research mentor - Proposals are reviewed by a panel, with heavier weighting on rigor and feasibility due to the scope and funding level. --- ## Additional Information - Evaluation criteria emphasize the importance and innovation of the research, rigor and feasibility of the approach, and the expertise/resources of the investigator. - Projects must be feasible to complete within one year. - The student investigator is compared to other student applicants in the discipline, with a focus on ability to outline activities and timelines. --- ## External Links - [Grant Program Page (ASHFoundation)](https://www.ashfoundation.org/apply/student-research-grant-in-audiology/) - [ASHFoundation Grants Overview](https://www.ashfoundation.org/apply/#Grants) --- ## Contact Information | Contact | Email | Phone | |----------------------------|--------------------------------------------|-----------------| | ASHFoundation Programs Team| foundationprograms@asha.org | +1 301-296-8700 | ---
