The Aligning Science Across Parkinson's (ASAP) Collaborative Research Network (CRN) 2025 Technical Track supports the development of novel, high-quality preclinical research tools to accelerate Parkinson’s disease (PD) target validation and therapeutic research. This grant funds teams to generate, validate, and distribute preclinical reagents and models (such as antibodies, viral vectors, and mouse models) for at least five prioritized PD targets identified by ASAP.
The focus is strictly on tool development and distribution rather than hypothesis-driven biological research. Tools must be made widely available through established commercial or academic repositories at reasonable prices without restrictive licensing, ensuring rapid and broad access to the research community.
Awarded teams receive up to $2 million annually for three years to support these efforts. The program emphasizes multidisciplinary, multi-institutional collaboration with strong leadership and project management. Open science policies are mandatory, including commitments to share tools openly and equitably.
