The AACAP Congressional Fellowship provides one child and adolescent psychiatrist the opportunity to work for ten months in a U.S. congressional office in Washington, D.C. The fellowship is designed for those with a strong interest in advocacy and public policy, aiming to expand their understanding of the federal legislative process, healthcare policy, and the impact of policy on child and adolescent psychiatry. Fellows interact with policymakers and advocacy groups, contribute an article to AACAP News, and later serve on the selection committee. The fellowship is highly competitive, selecting only one fellow annually.
