Description
The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and AstraZeneca jointly offer this fellowship to develop pathologists’ expertise in digital pathology, artificial intelligence, and computational pathology. It supports basic, translational, or clinical research focused on digital or computational pathology while preparing physician-scientists for independent careers in academic research, industry, or related fields.
Projects should advance AI-driven cancer research and diagnostics through computational methods. Examples include deep learning for biomarker discovery, models integrating genomics and histopathology, and computational pathology systems for clinical or research workflows. Projects may also use digital pathology, spatially resolved ’omics, and other relevant data to investigate disease mechanisms.
