Description
This grant supports the Accelerating Clinical Trials (ACT) Canada Consortium in its role as the national coordinating body for clinical trials infrastructure and capacity-building in Canada. Funded through the CIHR Clinical Trials Fund as part of Canada's Biomanufacturing and Life Sciences Strategy, the grant aims to maintain and expand the Consortium's activities, including harmonization of clinical trial processes, engagement with diverse partners, knowledge mobilization, and advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in clinical research. The Consortium is expected to facilitate collaboration across clinical trial networks, support patient-oriented research, enhance access to trials for underserved populations, and strengthen Canada’s ability to conduct innovative and cost-effective clinical trials. The work plan must address pan-Canadian governance, outreach to new partners, pandemic preparedness, and mechanisms for monitoring and reporting impact.
