Summary: Supports multidisciplinary research centers advancing tissue engineering and regenerative medicine products toward clinical trials.

    Description

This opportunity supports the creation and operation of multidisciplinary Resource Centers (RCs) and associated Interdisciplinary Translational Projects (ITPs) under the APEx program. The goal is to accelerate the advancement of promising strategies and products in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine (TE/RM), including therapeutics (such as adult stem cell-based treatments), sensors, and diagnostics. RCs will provide technical, administrative, regulatory, and commercialization support to ITPs, guiding them through validation, manufacturing, and preclinical testing of candidate products. The ultimate objective is to enable TE/RM products to achieve regulatory approval for first-in-human studies, with all necessary clinical study, synthesis, and manufacturing protocols in place.
