Description
This opportunity, offered by the U.S. Mission to Kazakhstan (U.S. Consulate General Almaty), funds projects that implement two closely linked initiatives: (1) Access Alumni Outreach and Engagement, and (2) the English Access Scholarship Program (Access) for the 2026–2028 cycle. The program aims to:
- Re-engage up to 300 Access Program alumni (ages 16–30, cohorts 2016–2026) across Shymkent, Kyzylorda, Taraz, Turkistan, and Almaty through activities that strengthen English skills, expand knowledge of U.S. history and culture, and build professional networks.
- Provide a 20-month intensive English language program for 32 new Access students (ages 13–15) from Shymkent or Taraz, including 360 hours of instruction, cultural enrichment, and pathways to U.S. exchange opportunities.
Both tracks are designed to advance U.S. foreign policy objectives by cultivating English-proficient, U.S.-engaged youth leaders and sustaining long-term people-to-people ties in Central Asia.
