--- ## Description The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Foundation (AAPD Foundation) offers funding for local, state, and regional initiatives that provide comprehensive oral health care to underserved children. The program is designed to improve access to dental care by supporting organizations embedded within their communities and familiar with local oral health challenges. Projects may focus on preventive care, family education, fostering healthy habits, and addressing barriers such as transportation, language, and financial constraints. The Foundation welcomes innovative and nontraditional approaches, provided they lead directly to children receiving comprehensive oral health care. Grant recipients gain access to the AAPD’s Reference Manual of Pediatric Dentistry and a networking platform to connect with other grantees. --- ## Due Dates - Application deadline: September 19, 2025 - Grant agreements distributed: March 2026 - Funds disbursed: April 2026 - Project period: April 2026 – March 2027 --- ## Funding Amount - Maximum award: Up to $30,000 for a one-year project. - Funding is for a 12-month period (April 2026–March 2027). - Select previous or current one-year grantees may be invited to apply for multi-year support. --- ## Eligibility Eligible applicants include: - Nonprofit 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) organizations - University-affiliated dental schools and clinics - Community college-affiliated programs - Local health jurisdictions, county health departments, hospitals, and clinics - State government agencies - National, state, and local dental societies - Colleges/schools of medicine (pediatric and family medicine departments only) - Hygienist- or resident-based programs (must be under direct supervision of a dentist) Additional requirements: - Must be located in the United States or its territories. - Projects must provide care for children 18 years of age or younger. - Only initiatives under the direct supervision of a dentist (pediatric dentist preferred, not required) are eligible.
