The program, an evolution of the Jerome Fund for New Music, offers commissioning funding, professional development, and promotional opportunities. Each awardee collaborates with a presenting partner (which may be based anywhere globally), and receives access to mentorship, networking, and visibility through American Composers Forum (ACF) platforms.
Awardees must complete their commissioned work, including a public presentation, within five years of receiving the grant. The program is designed to foster imagination, technical proficiency, innovation, and a distinctive artistic voice, with a strong commitment to racial equity and diversity of creative perspectives.
