Description
This grant opportunity, offered by the Administration for Community Living (ACL), funds Projects of National Significance (PNS) under the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act. The focus is on protecting the rights and preventing abuse of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD). Funded projects are expected to create opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to fully participate in community life, support the development of inclusive policies, and promote self-determination, independence, productivity, and integration.
Projects must address one or more of the following areas:
- Policy change and advocacy to improve experiences for people with ID/DD and their families.
- Leadership development for people with ID/DD and their families.
- Increasing knowledge of supports needed for individuals to achieve their desired life outcomes.
- Creation and dissemination of data resources relevant to the ID/DD community.
Performance will be measured by outcomes such as the number of policies changed, leadership roles gained, knowledge increases, and data resources accessed.
