Advancing Black Arts in Pittsburgh is an annual grant initiative managed by the Pittsburgh Foundation, dedicated to supporting Black artists, artist collectives, residencies, nonprofit organizations, and community-based programs that regularly produce or present Black art and cultural events reflecting the African diaspora. The program aims to foster a vibrant, equitable, and sustainable Black arts sector in the Pittsburgh region by building artists’ careers, sustaining organizations, encouraging collaboration, documenting artists’ work, and addressing systemic racism.
