The AI Accountability Fellowships, part of the Pulitzer Center's AI Accountability Network, are designed to empower journalists around the world to pursue in-depth, high-impact reporting on the societal impacts of artificial intelligence (AI). The program aims to address gaps in journalism about AI by supporting projects that investigate how AI systems are developed, funded, and deployed by corporations, governments, and other powerful actors. Fellows receive financial support, mentorship, training, and join a global community of peers to strengthen their reporting and engagement with critical audiences. The Fellowship emphasizes accountability reporting, transparency, and the real-world consequences of AI, particularly in areas such as policing, medicine, welfare, employment, and more.
