--- ## Description This program is designed to maintain a formal link between past recipients of the Kent D. Peaslee Junior Faculty Award (KDP JFA) and their universities, fostering ongoing engagement with the steel industry. The AIST Foundation Steel Professor designation supports faculty in promoting steel industry careers and activities on campus, including organizing events, research projects, and student outreach. The initiative aims to strengthen university-industry collaboration and encourage students to pursue opportunities in steelmaking. --- ## Due Dates - Rolling: Applications are accepted at any time. An initial application is required, followed by an annual acceptance form for continued participation. - Professors may participate in the program for up to ten (10) years, subject to Board approval. --- ## Funding Amount - Participants may remain in the program for up to 10 years. - An additional $5,000 is awarded to the professor who secures the most qualified student applications (above a target of five) for the AIST Foundation Steel Intern Scholarship program in a given year. Each professor is eligible for this bonus once every three years. - Overhead costs are not permitted; funding is intended to benefit students and support steel-related activities. --- ## Eligibility - Must be a professor who has received and successfully completed three years of the Kent D.
