This grant is designed to fund high-impact, innovative neuroimaging research projects that aim to deepen understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying behavioral and mental health disorders. Supported areas include anxiety disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, mood disorders, eating disorders, OCD, personality disorders, PTSD, schizophrenia, chronic pain, and substance/alcohol use disorders. Projects may also address social determinants of mental health (e.g., gun violence, isolation, socioeconomic inequities, social media, loneliness) and are encouraged to integrate neuroimaging with other scientific methodologies, including pre-clinical studies and analyses of large imaging datasets. Multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary teams are especially encouraged to apply.
