Scholars may teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise projects, advise theses, contribute to curriculum development, and conduct independent research in their field of specialization. The program aims to foster mutual understanding and strengthen academic ties between the United States and Ethiopia, with an emphasis on capacity building, faculty development, and public engagement. Scholars are expected to participate in outreach activities such as mentoring, public talks, and supporting host communities.
Eligible host institutions include Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, Addis Ababa University, Arba Minch University, Ethiopian Civil Service University, Haramaya University, Hawassa University, and Kotebe University of Education. While projects in all disciplines are welcome, some universities have expressed preferences for specific fields (e.g., anthropology, business, engineering, law, health sciences).
