This award provides U.S. scholars with the opportunity to teach two to three courses per semester at universities in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, where English is the medium of instruction. Scholars may also deliver seminars, guest lectures, workshops, and participate in curriculum and program development. The program aims to deepen academic exchange, advance local educational capacity, and promote mutual understanding between the U.S. and Turkmenistan. Engagement with the host community, including public talks and mentoring, is encouraged. The U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat offers robust support for housing, orientation, and integration into local life. Projects from all academic fields are welcome, with particular interest in STEM, oil and gas, law, international business, and management. Scholars must be adaptable to local academic and cultural contexts, as teaching assignments are determined after arrival.
