This award enables U.S. scholars to teach, conduct research, or combine both activities at Guatemalan private universities for 3–6 months. Projects in any academic discipline are eligible, with preference for those aligning with U.S. Embassy Mission Goals such as improving governance, economic prosperity, and citizen security. Scholars may teach undergraduate and graduate courses, conduct independent or collaborative research, assist in curriculum or program development, and provide thesis advising. Additional engagement with the local academic community, EducationUSA Guatemala, and the Walt Whitman American Center is encouraged. The program aims to foster international academic collaboration and develop sustainable linkages between U.S. and Guatemalan institutions.
