This award offers U.S. scholars the opportunity to engage in teaching, research, or professional projects at a variety of host institutions across Malawi. Projects are welcome in all academic disciplines, with encouragement for proposals in fields such as mining, energy, business, public health, education, and public policy. Scholars may teach undergraduate or graduate courses, contribute to curriculum development, conduct research (in combination with teaching), or undertake professional activities such as consultations or artist residencies. Fulbright Scholars are also expected to foster international understanding by engaging with local communities through public talks, mentoring, and outreach.
