Funding Amounts: Up to $4,730/month (teaching/teaching-research), $3,740/month (research/professional); relocation, travel, book/research, and dependent allowances available; grant length: 4–5 or 9–9.5 months, or 2 x 3-month Flex segments.

This award supports U.S. scholars to teach, conduct research, or combine both activities at higher education institutions or other appropriate organizations in Moldova. Projects are welcomed from all disciplines, with special encouragement for proposals in fields such as economics, business, IT, American studies, English language education, agriculture, tourism, and public health. Scholars may design and teach undergraduate or graduate courses, advise on curriculum and program development, consult on research capacity, and engage in their own research projects. Community engagement, such as public lectures and student mentoring, is encouraged to further Fulbright’s mission of promoting mutual understanding and collaboration.
Applicants may propose placements at any suitable Moldovan institution, including universities, colleges, or professional schools. The U.S. Embassy in Chisinau can assist with establishing affiliations if needed. The award offers both standard and Flex options (multiple short-term stays totaling six months), and grantees are required to participate in a pre-departure orientation.
