Summary: Supports innovative research at Columbia University to develop and validate new methods for measuring healthy aging across scientific disciplines.
The CHAI Pilot Awards, offered by the Robert N. Butler Columbia Aging Center through the Columbia Healthy Aging Initiative (CHAI), are designed to foster advances in measurement science related to healthy aging. This internal grant program encourages Columbia University faculty to propose projects that develop or validate novel tools and methods for assessing healthy aging. Eligible projects may include the creation of new population-level measures, survey instruments, psychometric assessments, physical and cognitive performance tests, biochemical assays, composite indices, or innovative data/biospecimen collection approaches. The program aims to inform next-generation cohort studies and support interdisciplinary research that enhances understanding of the etiology and progression of healthy aging.
