The Allison Cusick and Daniel Rice Research Grant Program, administered by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Natural Areas and Preserves (DNAP), funds research projects that enhance understanding and support the conservation of Ohio’s aquatic and terrestrial biological resources. The program is named in honor of the Division’s first Chief Zoologist, Daniel Rice, and first Chief Botanist, Allison Cusick, and aims to expand scientific knowledge of the state’s habitats, geology, ecosystems, and the ecology and impacts of non-native invasive species. Research supported by this grant directly contributes to the preservation and restoration of Ohio’s natural heritage.
