--- ## Description This opportunity supports the implementation of an Alumni Summit under the Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) 2026, organized by the U.S. Mission to Niger. The summit will bring together alumni of U.S. government-funded or sponsored exchange programs to celebrate and promote Freedom250, marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. The initiative seeks to align with U.S. policy objectives—fostering safety, prosperity, and freedom of expression—by encouraging collaboration among exchange alumni from diverse programs and professional backgrounds. Projects are expected to generate actionable initiatives with impact extending beyond the summit event. --- ## Due Dates - April 30, 2026: Application submission deadline --- ## Funding Amount - Award range: $5,000 to $40,000 per project - Expected number of awards: 2 - Estimated total program funding: $40,000 - No cost sharing or matching required --- ## Eligibility - The primary applicant and project lead must be a non-U.S. citizen alumnus/alumna of a U.S. government-funded or sponsored exchange program (see [J-1 Visa Exchange Programs](https://j1visa.state.gov)). - Each project team must include at least two eligible exchange alumni. - Teams may include alumni from different exchange programs and countries but must include at least one alumnus/alumna based in Niger. - U.S. citizen alumni may participate as team members but cannot serve as primary applicants or project leads. - Applications may be submitted only by eligible exchange alumni or alumni associations.
